Calf Augmentation Surgery in Austin

Enhance the size and definition of the Calves

Recently, the shape and size of the lower leg has become a more common concern. Many Austin area calf augmentation candidates feel self-conscious with the lack of volume in the calf region, which can cause an imbalance with the rest of the leg and body. This problem can be corrected with implant augmentation of the calves.

Soft but solid calf implants are surgically inserted into the lower legs to enhance either one or both of the medial and lateral heads of the muscle that makes up the visible part of the calf muscle tissue. Dr. John McFate, who practices cosmetic surgery in Austin, TX, is fully trained in the latest techniques of calf augmentation. Contact him today at (512) 270-8047 to see if this procedure is right for you.

The Operation

Our Austin area calf augmentation patients can typically return home the same day and can expect soreness and swelling for 2-3 weeks. Patients should avoid any strenuous activity for at least a month to allow proper time for healing.

The operation takes 1-2 hours, and the implants are inserted through a small incision in the back of the knee. The procedure can be performed as an outpatient in our operating suite (our Austin area plastic surgery center is located in a very idyllic setting) under IV anesthesia or in a hospital setting under general anesthesia.

Request a consultation today with Dr. McFate and decide if a calf augmentation is the right procedure for you to meet your personal goals. Get in touch today to jump start your new look.

Am I a Good Candidate?

It’s Texas, so sometimes wearing pants is downright impossible. That means for Austin area calf augmentation candidates, sometimes, there’s no escaping the self-conscious feeling of their calves. Patients with a localized area of volume deficiency in the calf region may be excellent candidates for a calf augmentation. Patients should be in overall good health and expect reasonable results.
