Summer is approaching and often with bikini season we see a higher trend of tummy tucks, liposuctions, and breast enhancements. But are there other surgeries that are popular during the other 3 seasons? We commonly get asked when the best time to get certain procedures is and that’s what we are going to discuss in this blog.
Mid December through March is a great time to get most procedures that are cosmetic related such as a tummy tuck or liposuction. The cooler weather allows you to wear baggier clothing during the healing process. Sweaters and scarves can hide scars and swelling. Also, the fact that you have a Christmas break, New Years break, and a few other holiday weekends, allows you to have longer rest and recovery time.
April through June people are really trying to prep their summer bodies. The surgeries we see most of during these months are breast surgeries(such as lifts and implants), body contouring, and facial surgeries(such as rhinoplasty).
Next we go into Summer and most often this is the slower season for surgeries unless you have the ability to take a summer vacation to heal. It’s important to avoid direct sunlight during your recovery so that means no excessive heat, no beach, no poolside. Surgeries that are acceptable during summer include Botox and minor surgeries.
September through the first part of December we see an increase in surgeries such as face and nose, breast, and body contouring because the weather has started to cool down again depending on where you live.
While you obviously do not have to get surgery based on what time of year it is, it does make it easier to know how the weather and time of year will affect your healing process and to plan accordingly.
